Ford has launched its first all electrical SUV and names it on iconic pony car of Ford. The name doesn’t match with the segment so the verdict is “is this the future of Mustang” maybe or maybe not Ford has not revealed anything, till then let’s see what is Ford Mustang Mach-E
Overview
Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric crossover with five-person seating, two options of battery is available, Rear or All-wheel Drive option available and the interior has advance technologies as well as unique storage space. Ford has claimed that the Mach-E goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds and an estimated EPA of 300 miles is expected. A lot of standard safety features are here and many storage options are also available. It will be available in the market by late 2020, bookings are open.
It is available with two battery pack i.e. 75.7kwh (standard) and 98.8 kWh (extended range). Both take energy from an electric motor resides on the rear both axels. The electric all-wheel (eAWD) drives deliver amazing performance and help you with handling on snowy roads. It generates 255-332 horsepower and 306-417 LB-FT of torque. The sporty GT model has 459 horsepower and 612 LB-FT of the torque. All-wheel Drive and Rear wheel drive both are available.
The rear-wheel-drive is expected to deliver an estimated EPA of 300 miles and with all-wheel drive, it is estimated to 210 miles. The mileage differs from model to model.
As its battery is under the floor of car it allows giving maximum cargo and passenger space. The interior is much like a regular mustang, filled with quality material and a nice cabin. Features like interior lighting, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, panoramic sunroof and more are available. It has 4.7 cubic ft. space available in the trunk with water-resistant plastic where you can easily store anything as per your need. It offers 29 cubic feet of cargo space and up to 60 cubic feet when rear seats are folded.
The exterior design is sleek and captivating with great LED headlight design. It is available in seven different body colors. 18-inch and 19-inch wheels are available with all-season tires. The manual liftgate is standard and hands-free are available. Using the phone as a key option comes standard in all models.
With the latest technology ford is featuring SYNC 4A infotainment system with voice recognition and connected navigation compatibility, 15.5-inch touch screen display, FordPass Connect, SiriusXM with 360L, wireless phone charging pad, 2 USB ports (Type A &C), 10-2 inch digital cluster screen, 2 power points comes standard. Top features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi and Bang & Olufsen audio system are available.
The estimated EPA is 210-300 miles depending on the type of electric motor and battery pack. Every Mustang Mach-E comes with Ford Mobile Charger that can add 32 miles with a 120-volt outlet and up to 80 per cent of battery life with a 240-volt outlet when charged overnight. Ford has also stated that it will be setting up 12,000 charging station in the U.S and Canada.
We can’t say about is safety ratings as it is not tested by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), we guess it will have great ratings because of its wide range of safety features.
Standard features include Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0 that includes auto high beam, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, rearview camera and reverse sensing system, Ford Co-pilot assist 2.0 that includes Intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering, speed sign recognition, intersection assist and voice-activated touch screen, forward sensing system, auto hold and rain-sensing wipers are standard in all trims.
The ford Co-pilot 360 active 2.0 that includes active park assist and active driver assist, and a 360-degree camera with split-view and front washer are available on Select trim and standard on all other trims.
It comes with bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles and Electric Unique Components warranty for 8 years or 100,000 miles.
