Nissan’s New Z Proto Sports Car

The Nissan Z Proto concept is here, and it seems that it is a complete package that we all have been hoping for. The new Nissan Z Proto blends the styling of the long history of Z into a single modern car. Under the hood of this modern car, there is a twin-turbo engine.

In the Nissan Z Proto exterior, you can see the resemblance to Nissan other Z cars, it is five inches longer to 370Z, headlights and chrome highlights similar to 240Z, taillights inspired to 300ZX, vertical character lines similar to 350Z and taut lines and muscular rear fenders much like 370Z.  There is rear pillar treatment with circular Z badges and Fairlady Z badge on deck.  Although, the new car excellent shape and you can see a hint of Jaguar and Aston Martin in it.

The interior continues with a retro theme like other Z with some modernity. The dashboard is driver-focused; doors have rounded door handles and air vents directly ahead of them. The infotainment is changed to a larger one and the instrument panel uses a 12.3-inch screen.

Nissan Z Proto is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0 L V6 engine which is used by Infiniti. Also, some years ago Nissan showed a SEMA concept under that this engine was capable of generating 400 horsepower, which will give competition to Toyota Supra, Ford Mustang, and others similar to them. The 6-speed manual transmission is standard and automatic will be available. Nissan is pretty tight about revealing specifications for Z Proto that’s why we are expecting that it will share the same rear-wheel-drive FM platform as its predecessors. The pricing is not revealed and the actual production car will arrive in 2021.
